SEGUIN, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team edged Texas Lutheran 1-0 Monday evening in Seguin.
The first half played scoreless with UMHB outshooting the Bulldogs 8-6 in the frame.
Breland Mungia gave the Cru a lead in the 58
th minute, finding the bottom center of the net for a 1-0 Cru lead. UMHB's defense preserved the win, allowing just five second-half shots to keep the one-goal margin.
Mungia led the Cru with five shots while
Kelsey White,
Ella Wheeless and Ariana Vasquez each added two. UMHB put seven total shots on frame in the contest and limited the Bulldogs to just five.
Emma Edwards and
Morgan Oliver split time in the net, combining for five saves in the shutout.
UMHB returns to action on Thursday, September 26
th in a 7 p.m. contest against Concordia University Texas at the Cru Soccer Field in Belton.
