BELTON, Texas – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer defeated Concordia University Texas 3-1 Thursday night in Belton. The Cru's record rises to 5-1-1 on the season while the Tornados fall to a record of 2-5-1.
The Tornados jumped ahead early in the first half with a 4
th minute goal from Patricia Heckendorn. The Cru wasted no time, responding with the equalizer from
Natalie Mason off a
Morgen Rathmell assist in the 5
th minute.
The second half was jump-started in the 59
th minute with the go-ahead goal from
Breland Mungia off an assist from
Trinity Hoffmann.
Kelsey White added an insurance goal in the 67
th minute, making it a 3-1 game in favor of the Cru.
UMHB had 13 total shots on the night while Concordia Texas tallied just six.
Kelsey White led the Cru offensively with two shots, both on goal, along with six other Crusaders who each added one shot on goal.
Morgan Oliver held down the net in the first half making three saves.
Emma Edwards came in to finish the game at goalkeeper, but was not served any shots on goal by the Tornados.
UMHB returns to Cru Soccer Field on Saturday, September 28th in a 5:00 PM match against UT Dallas.
