BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team earned a 2-1 win over the University of Texas at Dallas Saturday night in Belton. The win improved the Cru to 6-1-1 on the season while the Comets fell to 3-4.
 
Natalie Mason put UMHB on top early in the first half, scoring an unassisted goal just 71 seconds into play. The Cru held the one-goal margin until the 33
rd minute when 
Allie Angell headed in a corner kick from 
Jayme Dowell for a two-goal lead. UMHB outshot the Comets 16-4 in the first half as 
Emma Edwards made two saves for the Cru.
 
Alicia Aguinaga scored a goal for the Comets in the 64
th minute but the Crusader defense held them scoreless for the remainder of the contest, earning the 2-1 win.                                                                                                                           
 
Natalie Mason led the Cru with six shots, putting five on frame. 
Kelsey White added four shots while 
Jayme Dowell put up three. UMHB totaled 21 shots in the contest, limiting the Comets to nine total shots and five on frame. 
Emma Edwards and 
Morgan Oliver split time in the net, combining for four saves.
 
The Cru returns to action on Thursday, October 3
rd in a 5 p.m. contest at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene.
