Northfield, MINN. - The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team defeated St. Olaf College, the number one team in the nation, 1-0 Thursday evening in Northfield, Minnesota. The Cru improved to a 1-1-1 record while the Oles fell to 2-2-0 on the season.
Drew Cooley scored the go-ahead goal in the 72
nd minute off of an assist from
Ethan Dacaret for the only score of the game. UMHB tallied eight shots on the night with four shots on goal.
Karsen Macias led the team with two shots on goal, followed by
Yannis Benae and
Drew Cooley who each added one.
Hayden Owens earned the win in the net with a 90-minute shutout. The Oles, whose 23-game win streak came to an end on Sunday, had four shots on goal, all saved by Owens.
UMHB returns to action on Saturday, September 7
th at 3:30 p.m. against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps College in Northfield.
