Soccer falls to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Saturday afternoon in Northfield. 

Collin Ross scored the go-ahead goal for CMS in the 15th minute, curling a shot to the far post. Rafael Otero added an insurance goal in the 25th minute before Evan Ruiz scored for the Cru. Ruiz hit in a pass from Ethan Dacaret for the score. Heiko Schultz answered two minutes later, putting the Stags up 3-1. 

Neither team was able to score in the second half, leaving the game at the 3-1 mark. Yannis Benae and Drew Cooley led the Cru with two shots each, putting both on frame. UMHB totaled eight shots overall with seven on goal in the contest. Hayden Owens took the loss for the Cru, making four saves with three goals allowed. 

UMHB returns to action on Thursday, September 12th in a 7:30 p.m. contest against Austin College at the Cru Soccer Field in Belton. The Cru also plays at home on Saturday, September 14th.
