BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team earned a 4-0 win over East Texas Baptist Saturday en route to the 2025 American Southwest Conference regular-season title. The win improved the Cru to 7-4-6 on the season and 5-0 in league play while the Tigers fell to 5-5-3 overall and 1-4 in conference action.
Allie Angell put the Cru ahead in the 28
th minute, scoring an unassisted goal after a corner kick for a 1-0 lead. UMHB held that margin until the second half with the Crusader offense went off, scoring three goals for a 4-0 win.
Gracie Ruthven scored less than two minutes into the half off a pass from
Audrey Harlien before Ruthven added another goal in the 60
th minute with a throw-in assist from
McKenna Prichard.
Laci Lopez tacked on another score in the 65
th minute, scoring off a corner kick from
Kaitlynn Neill for a four-goal lead.
Ruthven led the Cru with two goals and five shots while Lopez and
Ella Ruff each added four shots. UMHB put 20 of 25 shots on frame, led by Ruthven with four and three other Crusaders with three. The Crusader defense limited the Tigers to just eight total shots in the game and only three on frame.
Aubrey Tipton totaled three saves in the full 90-minute shutout.
UMHB closes out the regular season with a 5 p.m. contest at Hardin-Simmons University on Saturday, November 1
