ABILENE, Texas – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer fell to Hardin-Simmons on Saturday evening. The Cru's record moved to 7-5-6 on the season with a 5-1 mark in conference play. The Cowgirls improved to 9-3-2 overall with a 4-2 record in American Southwest Conference action.
Gracie Ruthven opened action for the Cru in the 12th minute of play with a shot on goal but was denied in the net, followed by Peyton Floyd who added one of her own. Goalkeeper Aubrey Tipton added a save in the 20th minute to keep the match scoreless. Tipton went on to add two more saves to close out the half knotted at zero.
Audrey Tipton tallied two more saves to open second frame action, followed by a shot on goal from Audrey Harlien. Kaitlynn Neill and Kendall Hiatt each added a shot on goal before the Cowgirls scored the go-ahead goal in the 87th minute to take a 1-0 lead. This closed out the match with the Cru falling 1-0.
Audrey Harlien led the Cru with five shots on the night, with two on goal. Kaitlynn Neill followed with three shots and one on goal. Aubrey Tipton played all 90 minutes in the net, adding eight saves.
This rounds out regular season play for UMHB. The Cru returns to action on Thursday, November 6th in the ASC Championship Tournament, hosted in Belton.
