Football names eight to D3football.com All-Region Teams; Stewart named Offensive Player of the Year

BELTON, Texas – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football earned eight D3football.com All-Region 3 Team awards, released Wednesday. B.J. Stewart was also named Offensive Player of the Year.
 
BJ Stewart, a senior from Shreveport, was named D3football.com Offensive Player of the Year. He also earned First Team Offense at wide receiver and return specialist. Stewart led the American Southwest Conference with 62 receptions on the season, totaling 776 yards. He scored a conference-high 11 touchdowns, averaging 12.5 yards per catch and 86.2 yards per game. Stewart also led the conference with 552 kickoff return yards and 200 punt return yards. He ran back one kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown and one punt 61 yards for a score, both in the same game. Stewart averaged 46 yards per kickoff return and 15.4 yards per punt return, totaling 1,542 all-purpose yards this season. He was also named ASC Offensive Player of the Year, Tri-Special Teams Player of the Year and First Team All-ASC at both wide receiver and return specialist.
 
Carson Gaido was also named First Team Offense. Gaido, a senior offensive tackle from Georgetown, started in all 10 games for the Cru this season. He averaged a player grade of 95% with 29 total knockdowns on the season. Gaido allowed just one sack in his senior season.
 
Te'Ron Brown was named First Team Defense. Brown, a senior defensive lineman from Orange, totaled 20 tackles this season with 5.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. He forced 29 yards lost on the season, adding four quarterback hurries. Brown also had one fumble recovery for a touchdown with two total fumble recoveries and one forced fumble. 
 
JJ Davis was a Second Team Defense selection. Davis, a junior defensive back from Houston, finished with 62 total tackles this season including 39 solo. He added 3.5 tackles for eight yards lost with one interception, one pass breakup, one fumble recovery and one forced fumble.
 
Will McClintock and Joseph Montez both earned Third Team Offense awards.
 
Will McClintock, a senior tight end from Riesel, finished with 12 catches this season for 208 yards. He averaged 17.3 yards per grab with one touchdown catch.

Joseph Montez, a senior offensive guard from San Antonio, started in all 10 games with a player grade of 96%. Montez totaled 28 knockdowns with just one sack allowed.
 
Brandon McGruder was named Third Team Defense. McGruder, a junior defensive end from Little Elm, finished with 25 tackles this season, including 17 solo tackles. He ranked second in the conference in tackles for loss (13) and sacks (six), totaling 78 yards lost on the season. McGruder added two quarterback hurries and one forced fumble in his first season at UMHB.
 
 UMHB finished the season as 2025 American Southwest Conference Co-Champions.
