BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor softball team placed 11 athletes on the All-American Southwest Conference teams, released Tuesday.
Eileigh Whyte was also named ASC Pitcher of the year while
Shorey Nguyen earned ASC Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year.
Eileigh Whyte was named ASC Pitcher of the Year and First Team All-ASC. Whyte, a senior from Round Rock, threw 110.1 innings for the Cru this season, recording a 12-6 record in the circle. She made 22 appearances in the circle with a 2.28 ERA. Whyte gave up just 36 runs in 419 at-bats, allowing just 117 hits with 54 total strikeouts. She gave up only eight walks, limiting opponents to a .279 batting average this season.
Shorey Nguyen was named ASC Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year and Third Team All-ASC. Nguyen, a sophomore from Carrollton, hit .300 this season in 39 starts for the Cru. She totaled 33 hits and ranked second on the team with 24 runs scored. Nguyen had two extra-base hits, including one inside-the-park home run, adding 10 RBI on 38 total bases. She went 12-for-15 in stolen bases this year and earned five walks. As an outfielder, Nguyen totaled 77 putouts with three assists in a perfect 1.00 fielding performance.
Tori Skinner and
Bryton Wright were both named First Team All-ASC.
Tori Skinner, a senior catcher from Teague, ranked second on the team with a .378 batting average in 40 starts this year. She ranked second on the team with 45 hits in 119 at-bats, adding 22 runs scored. Skinner slammed 12 extra-base hits on a .546 slugging percentage. She added 31 RBI with 65 total bases on the season. Skinner also went 11-for-12 in stolen bases and earned four walks. As a catcher, Skinner tallied 131 putouts with 30 assists. She threw out 13 attempted base stealers and added one double play in a .970 fielding performance.
Bryton Wright was named First Team All-ASC at designated player. Wright, a senior from Melissa, hit .295 this season for the Cru. She totaled 28 hits in 95 at-bats, scoring seven runs. Wright slammed 10 extra-base hits this season, including five home runs, in a .505 slugging percentage. She added 24 RBI in 48 total bases with three walks earned. Wright added 19.1 innings in the circle with one win and 15 strikeouts.
Bailey Frenzel and
Lindsey Polleschultz were named Second Team All-ASC.
Bailey Frenzel, a senior first baseman from Orange, started in all 40 games this season. Frenzel hit .360 on the year, leading the Cru with a .604 slugging percentage. She ranked third on the team with 40 hits, adding a team-high 32 RBI. Frenzel scored 12 runs this season with seven home runs and six doubles. She totaled 67 bases and earned 19 walks at the plate. As a first baseman, Frenzel totaled 157 putouts with 11 assists and 12 double plays.
Lindsey Polleschultz, a senior shortstop from Cypress, started all 40 games for the Cru. She batted a team-high .381 this season, adding highs in hits (48) and runs scored (32). Polleschultz, recorded nine extra-base slams, including one inside-the-park home run, with 14 RBI and 62 total bases. She also led the conference with 33 stolen bases on the season. Polleschultz fielded .980 as the Cru's starting shortstop, recording 73 putouts and 74 assists in 150 chances. She added nine doubles plays this season with just three errors.

Ella Gamblin and
Chloee Miller all joined Nguyen on the All-ASC Third Team.
Madeline Stephenson, a senior second baseman from Orange, started in 38 games for the Cru this season. She hit .267 on the year with 24 hits in 90 at-bats. Stephenson added 18 runs scored with seven RBI, tallying 25 total bases. As a second baseman, Stephenson totaled 83 outs with 39 assists in 136 chances. She also fielded eight doubles plays, fielding .971.
Taylor Henken, a senior outfielder from Danbury, hit .303 this season. She started in 38 games, recording 27 hits with 189 runs scored. Henken added four extra-base slams with nine RBI and 31 total bases. She went 13-for-13 in stolen base attempts and added 84 putouts and seven assists in the outfield.
Ella Gamblin, a sophomore pitcher from Celina, put in 34 innings in the circle. She recorded a 3-2 record as a pitcher with a 3.50 ERA this season. Gamblin tossed one complete game with one shutout, giving up just 17 earned runs. She walked just six of 139 batters faced, striking out four.
Chloee Miller, a senior pitcher from Joaquin, recorded a 3.38 ERA this season. She threw 66.1 innings with a 5-5 record in the circle. Miller gave up just 32 earned runs with 31 strikeouts this season. She tossed six complete games with three shutouts in 17 appearances for the Cru.
Vic Shimabukuro was named Honorable Mention All-ASC. Shimabukuro, a freshman outfielder from Belton, played in 27 games this season as an outfielder. She hit .308 with 16 hits in 52 at-bats. Shimabukuro added three RBI and three doubles on the year, scoring 10 total runs. As an outfielder, she fielded 32 outs with two assists.
This is the third award for Polleschultz and Henken and second for Skinner, Wright, Whyte, Frenzel, Stephenson and Nguyen. UMHB went 24-16 this season with an 8-8 mark in conference play.
