MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to DePauw University Sunday afternoon in Memphis.
Katharine Lacy got DePauw on the board in the 28
th minute, scoring an unassisted goal for a 1-0 lead. UMHB put four shots on frame in the first half and allowed the Tigers five.
Audrey Harlien opened the second half with a shot on frame, followed by a
Jayme Dowell shot on goal in the 54
th minute. The Tigers made saves on both of those attempts and continued to hold the Cru scoreless. Dowell put another shot on frame for the Cru in the 79
th minute but DePauw's defense held, securing the 1-0 victory.
Dowell and Harlien led the Cru with three shots, two on-frame each while three other Crusaders each added a shot. UMHB totaled nine shots with four on frame while the Tigers had eight shots and five on frame.
Aubrey Tipton played the full contest in goal for the Cru, making four saves while Aubree Empie pitched a shutout for DePauw, also making four saves.
UMHB returns to action on Thursday, September 25
th in a 7 p.m. contest against Howard Payne University at the UMHB Soccer Field in Belton.
