Men’s Soccer draws tie against Whitman

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team tied the Blues of Whitman in a 2-2 contest Friday in Colorado. This moves UMHB's record to 2-0-1 on the season.

The Cru opened the match with two early shots but both were missed. After 13 scoreless minutes, Aidan Aguilera-Reeves broke through with a goal in the 14th minute off an assist from Karsen Macias. The Blues struck back in the 41st minute, knotting the game at one before halftime.

In the 73rd minute of play, Alex Bethke scored the go-ahead goal off an assist from Karsen Macias. Whitman responded with another goal in the 80th minute, tying the game back up at 2-2.

Karsen Macias led the Cru in assists with two, while Arnold Perez-Valenzuela led the Cru in shots on goal with four, followed by Aidan Aguilera-Reeves with two. Alex Bethke and Aguilera-Reeves each scored a goal.

The Cru continues play in Colorado Springs with an 11:30am matchup on Sunday, September 7th against No. 20 Colorado College.
