SEGUIN, Texas - The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team opened the 2026 season with a loss to Texas Lutheran University Tuesday evening in Seguin.

Naiema Almaraz got TLU on the board with a goal in the 41st minute, with an assist from Emma Alvarado to take the lead 1-0. UMHB put three shots on frame in the first half and allowed the Bulldogs two.

UMHB evened the score in the 78th minute with a goal from
Gracie Ruthven assisted by
Trinity Hoffmann. The Bulldogs scored again in the 88th minute by Natalia Cortez to take the lead 2-1.

Aubrey Tipton played the full contest in the goal for the Cru, making one save.
Kendall Hiatt had two shots on goal and
Gracie Ruthven one shot on goal and three total shots. The Cru had five shots on goal while the Bulldogs had three.

UMHB returns to action on Friday, September 4th in a 7:00 p.m. contest against Southwestern University at the UMHB Soccer Field in Belton.
