BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team played Southwestern University to a scoreless draw in the 2026 home opener Friday evening in Belton. UMHB moved to 0-1-1 on the season while the Pirates went to 0-0-2.
UMHB had good offensive looks in the first half with solid shots from
Allie Angell,
Chloe Murr,
Gracie Ruthven and
Leila Cunningham. The Cru put up 11 more shots in the second half, with seven of those on frame.
Gracie Ruthven led the Cru with five total shots, putting four on net while
Trinity Hoffmann put up four and
Audrey Harlien and
Allie Angell each added three. UMHB's defense limited the Pirates to just eight total shots in the contest. UMHB goalkeeper
Aubrey Tipton made two saves en route to the shutout.
UMHB returns to action on Sunday, September 6
th in a 6 p.m. contest at Trinity University in San Antonio.
