BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team earned its first win of the season at the foot of
Leila Cunningham. The Cru took the 1-0 win over University of St. Thomas Saturday night in Belton.
Cunningham sealed the win for the Cru, converting a penalty kick in the 87
th minute for the game-winning goal. Cunningham placed her shot in the bottom left corner of the goal for the score.
UMHB totaled 25 shots in the contest, putting 14 total on frame.
Audrey Harlien led the Cru with six shots, putting three on frame while
Gracie Ruthven added four shots with two on frame.
Aubrey Tipton earned the win in the net, tallying 90 minutes with one save made.
UMHB returns to action in a pair of matches next week in Boston. The Cru will play Massachusetts Institute of Technology on Thursday, September 17
th and Brandeis University on Saturday, September 19
th.
