BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor dropped a one-goal decision to Trinity University Friday in Belton, falling 1-0 to the Tigers.
UMHB scored a first-half goal but was eventually called back off of a VAR review. UMHB outshot the Tigers 4-3 in the first half, putting three shots on frame.
The Cru controlled possession for most of the second half but a set-piece opportunity put the Tigers up with a goal from Alex Baltov. The Tigers fought off the Cru's response to keep the one-goal lead.
UMHB tallied ten total shots in the contest, putting seven on frame.
Martin Valdes led the Cru with three shots while
Eric Ortiz and
Blake Dildy each added two. The Cru's defense limited the Tigers to just five shots on goal with Hughston Taggard making four saves.
The Cru returns to action on Sunday, September 20
th in a 7:30 p.m. contest at Texas Lutheran University in Seguin.
