Kerrville, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor softball team stayed perfect in American Southwest Conference West Division play by sweeping another doubleheader from Schreiner University Saturday afternoon in Kerrville. UMHB won game one 7-0 and took game two by a 6-3 score. The Cru improves to 15-9 overall and 8-0 in ASC West Division with the two victories. Schreiner falls to 7-17 overall and 1-9 in the ASC with the two losses.

The Cru grabbed an early lead and that would be all Erica White would need in a 7-0 game one win. Caitlin Bollier's three-run double put UMHB up 3-0 in the top of the second inning. The Cru would add four more runs in the top of the fifth. Hannah White led off the inning with her eighth home run of the season, Caitlin Wells added an RBI single and Austin McCormick doubled home two more runs to make it 7-0 UMHB. Erica White did the rest, holding the Mountaineers to four hits and striking out eight to raise her record to 7-1 on the year. Bollier finished with three hits for the Cru and Wells added two more.

The Cru used a four-run sixth inning to erase a late deficit on the way to a 6-3 win in game two. Megan Bohne doubled home a run in the top of the first to give UMHB a 1-0 lead and Bollier added an RBI double in the second to put the Cru up 2-0. Schreiner answered with single runs in the second, third and fifth to take a 3-2 lead before UMHB responded with the four-run sixth. Laura Sotiropoulos doubled home the first run of the frame and scored on Jordan Giesen's RBI double. Kaysie Creech added a two-run single to provide some insurance. Erica White would come on in relief to nail down her third save of the season and Ariel Kemmerer earned the win to move her record to 4-3 on the season. Bohne had three hits and Wells, Sara Roman and Hannah White added two hits apiece for UMHB.

The Cru will now return home to host Sul Ross State for a four-game ASC West Division series next weekend at Dee Dillon Field. The two teams will open the weekend with a 1:00 PM doubleheader on Friday before closing out the weekend with an 11:00 AM doubleheader on Saturday.
