PINEVILLE, La. – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team routed Louisiana College 4-0 Saturday afternoon in Pineville. The Cru improved to 3-2-1 on the season and 1-0-1 in American Southwest Conference Action while the Wildcats fell to 0-6 overall.
Jorge Marquez scored first for the Cru, scoring in the ninth minute for a 1-0 UMHB lead.
Julio Mar was next, scoring in the 42
nd minute off an assist from
Amani Colbert for a 2-0 lead at the half.
Case Carnes struck next, scoring in the 70
th minute while
Kyle Gleason finished off scoring for the Cru in the 87
th minute with an assist from
John Hinnenkamp.
Sean Diamond led the Cru with four shots while Marquez added three. UMHB outshot the Wildcats 20-2 in the match, putting seven shots on goal.
Javier Zaragoza earned the shutout win in the net for UMHB as the Cru limited the Wildcats to just one shot per half.
UMHB returns to action in the first home game of the season at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, September 25
th at the Cru Sports Plex in Belton.
