BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team fell 3-0 to the University of Texas at Dallas Saturday afternoon in Belton. The loss dropped the Cru to 6-7 on the season with a 2-2 American Southwest Conference record while the Comets improved to 13-2 overall and 4-0 in league play.
The Comets jumped to an early lead in the first set, taking command with a 25-12 win. UMHB fought back in the next two, falling 25-20, 25-21 to U.T.-Dallas.
Cheyenne Dowdey led the Cru with 9 kills while
Maddie Frerich and
Abby Voskuil each added eight.
Shelby Prather led UMHB with 26 assists while
Natasha Evans added seven. Defensively, Prather had a team-high 12 digs followed by Evans with 10 and Voskuil with eight. UMHB totaled 36 kills on 118 total attacks with 17 errors while the Comets had 50 kills on 121 total attacks with 12 errors.

th in a 6 p.m. match at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene.
