ABILENE, Texas– The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to McMurry University Thursday evening in Abilene. The loss moved the Cru to 12-2 on the season and 9-1 in American Southwest Conference action while the War Hawks improved to 7-5-2 overall and 4-3-2 in league play.
Javi Mejia scored the lone goal of the contest, putting the War Hawks up 1-0 in the 10th minute with a header goal off an assist from Jesus Sanchez. UMHB outshot the War Hawks 14-9 in the contest, putting three shots on goal. Logan Keeler led the Cru with three shots, followed by Julio Mar and Martin Lopez with two each. Bryce Eichhorn took the loss for UMHB, allowing one goal with three saves. Alex Chavez earned the win for the War Hawks, making four saves in the shutout win.
UMHB returns to action on Saturday, October 21st in a 3:30 p.m. match at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene.
