BELTON, Texas   – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team swept Louisiana College 3-0 in the final match of the 2018 American Southwest Crossover I Saturday afternoon in Belton. The win improved the Cru to 10-1 on the season and 5-0 in ASC play while the Wildcats fell to 3-9 overall and 2-4 in league action.
 
UMHB took the Wildcats in straight 25-14, 25-21, 25-14 sets. Sarah Paolini led the Cru with 10 kills, hitting .818 in the contest. Hope Hoelscher and Jenna Gillean each added seven as UMHB totaled 42 in the contest. Cory Jo Martin anchored the Cru office with 24 assists while Miranda Klein added 13. At the service line, Martin, Haleigh Evans and Adrien Valdez each recorded two service aces. Defensively, Evans led with 13 digs while Klein had nine and Martin added eight. Hoelscher led defensive efforts at the net with four blocks. UMHB totaled 42 kills on 89 attacks for a .393 percentage, adding 44 digs and seven team blocks.
 
UMHB returns to action on Tuesday, September 25^th in a 6 p.m. contest at McMurry University in Abilene.
