BELTON, Texas   – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team swept Sul Ross State University 3-0 Saturday afternoon in Belton. The win improved the Cru to 13-1 on the season and 8-0 in American Southwest Conference action while the Lobos fell to 3-9 overall and 2-5 in league play.

UMHB took the Lobos in straight 25-7, 25-11, 25-19 sets. Jenna Gillean led the Cru with eight kills while Corinne Novak, Sarah Paolini and Miranda Klein each recorded seven. UMHB hit .254 in the match, slamming 39 kills on 82 total attacks. Cory Jo Martin led the Cru with 23 assists, followed by Klein with eight. Defensively, Haleigh Evans led the Cru with 13 digs while Klein added nine. Paolini led defensive efforts at the net, recording three solo blocks and two block assists. UMHB totaled 32 assists, 50 digs and 10 team blocks. Sul Ross State hit -.035 in the match, recording 15 kills, 27 digs and three team blocks.
 
UMHB returns to action on Tuesday, October 2^nd in a 6 p.m. match at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene.
