BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team earned a 3-1 win over McMurry University Saturday afternoon in Belton.
UMHB took a 25-19 win in the first set before falling 28-26 in the second. The Cru rallied from a seven-point deficit in the third set to take a 27-25 win, then coasted to a 25-16 win in the fourth.
Jenna Gillean led the Cru with 15 kills while
Corinne Novak added 14 and
Kayla Janikula had 13. UMHB hit 58 kills on 156 attacks for a .282 percentage in the match.
Cory Jo Martin led the Cru with 45 assists while
Miranda Klein added 11. Defensively, Novak led the Cru with 21 digs followed by
Adrien Valdez with 18. UMHB totaled 76 digs and 11 team blocks, limiting the War Hawks to a .186 percentage in the match.
UMHB improved to 21-6 on the season and 14-0 in American Southwest Conference action. The Cru returns to play on Thursday, October 31
st in a 6 p.m. match against Concordia University Texas at the Mayborn Campus Center in Belton.
