RICHARDSON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team fell 4-1 to Emory University Saturday afternoon in Richardson. The loss dropped the Cru to 2-2-1 on the season while Emory improved to 2-3-1.
The game played scoreless through the majority of the first half before Nate Sampson scored back-to-back goals in the 37
th minute and 40
th minute to put the Eagles up by two.
Tyler Childs put the Cru on the board 57 seconds into the second half, cutting the Eagles' lead to just one goal. Corey Levine scored for the Eagles in the 54
th minute to extend that lead to 3-1 before Ethan Cohen added one more insurance goal in the 83
rd minute, securing a 4-1 win for Emory.
Seth Neveloff led the Cru with two shots while four other Crusaders added one each. Emory boasted 15 shots in the contest, putting eight on frame. The Cru allowed just four corner kicks in the contest.
Ethan Rimbey took the loss for UMHB, allowing four goals with four saves. Max Carlson earned the win for the Eagles, allowing one goal and making one save.
