BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team earned a 3-1 win over Belhaven University Saturday afternoon in Belton. The win improved the Cru to 9-3 on the season and 7-0 in American Southwest Conference action while the Blazers fell to 5-6-1 overall and 3-4 in league play.
Nick Villanueva gave the Cru a lead in the first half, scoring in the 23
rd and 38
th minutes to put UMHB up by two. Adrian Eaglin cut the lead in the 39
th minute for the Blazers, scoring off a through pass from Dalton Morgan.
Harper Roland added another score for UMHB at 75:46, securing the 3-1 UMHB victory.
UMHB totaled 20 shots with nine on frame while the Blazers had six shots with two on frame.
Nick Villanueva led the Cru with six shots and three on frame while
Patrick Roach and
Ethan Buchanan each added four.
Dalton Lloyd played the full contest in goal for the Cru, giving up one goal with one save.
UMHB returns to action on Thursday, October 21
st in a 7:30 p.m. match against McMurry University at the UMHB Soccer Field in Belton.
