BELTON, Texas –
Ethan Dacaret and
Ethan Buchanan proved to be heroes Saturday night in Belton, helping the Cru to a come-from-behind 4-3 overtime win over the University of Texas at Dallas. UMHB improved to 6-3 on the season and 4-0 in American Southwest Conference action while the Comets fell to 6-3-2 overall and 2-1-1 in league play.
Patrick Roach put the Cru ahead in the third minute, scoring off an assist from
Nick Villanueva for a 1-0 Cru lead. Kane Kidwell scored the equalizer for the Comets in the 13
th minute before Riley O'Donnell put the Comets ahead in the 26
th minute.
Roach scored the equalizer for the Cru in the 58
th minute, converting a penalty kick awarded because of a UTD handball. Benny Lube scored on a header in the 64
th minute to give the Comets another lead. UMHB saw several scoring opportunities to close regulation play before
Ethan Dacaret scored with one minute left, forcing overtime.
Ethan Buchanan scored the game-winner 20 seconds into the extra period off another Villanueva throw, sealing the 4-3 win for the Cru.
Buchanan and Dacaret each led the Cru with three shots while Roach added two. UMHB totaled 12 shots in the contest, putting 10 on frame. UMHB's defense limited the Comets to just four total shots in the contest and just one in the second half.

th in 3:30 p.m. match at Sul Ross State University in Alpine.
