BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team swept McMurry University 3-0 Saturday afternoon in Belton. The win improved the Cru to 13-6 on the season and 6-4 in league play while the War Hawks fell to 7-9 overall and 4-6 in American Southwestern Conference action.
 
The first set proceeded in back-and-forth action until the Cru used a late 8-1 run to take the final advantage and cruise to a 25-21 victory. Second set action never saw a lead larger than three, but UMHB capitalized on final kills from Hannah Frasca and Katie Warden to take the set 27-25. The War Hawks fought back in the third taking an 8-4 lead before the Cru used a four-point run to knot it up 8-8. UMHB continued pressing on to secure the 25-17 victory.
 
The Cru totaled 45 kills led by Frasca with 17 while Kaylie Vasil added 10. The UMHB offense was anchored by Ella Brunson with 37 assists. Defensively, Alyssa Christiansen led with 15 digs while Frasca added 14.
 
UMHB returns to action Tuesday, October 11^th in a 6:00 p.m. match against Sul Ross State in Belton.
