BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team fell 3-2 to UT Dallas Saturday afternoon in Belton. The Cru fell to 9-3 on the season and 2-2 in the American Southwest Conference. The Comets improved to 5-4 overall and 2-1 in league play.
UMHB jumped to an early seven-point lead and cruised to a 25-20 first-set win. The Comets fought back, outscoring the Cru 25-20 and 25-18 to take a 2-1 advantage. UMHB tacked on another set to knot-up the match with a 25-19 victory. The Comets took an early lead in the fifth set. The Cru tried to fight back, but could not hold on, dropping the match 3-2.
Kaylie Vasil and
Hannah Frasca both recorded double-doubles in the match. Vasil led the Cru with 16 kills while Frasca added 15. Defensively
Maddie Gillispie led UMHB with 27 while
Alyssa Christiansen added 26.
UMHB returns to action Tuesday, September 20
th in a 6:00 P.M. match in Abilene.
