AUSTIN, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team sealed another win after a three-set sweep over Concordia Texas on Tuesday, September 26th.
UMHB jumped to a three-point lead to start the match before the Tornados tied it 4-4. The Cru responded with an 8-2 run to go ahead 13-7. The Tornados knotted it back up at 16 but the Cru only allowed them four more points, taking the 25-20 first-set win.
UMHB led early again in the second set until the Tornados pulled within one at the 8-7 mark. The Cru responded with a 4-1 run, but the Tornados did not let up, holding the set within three points until the 18-18 mark. The Cru used a five point run followed by two kills from Katie Warden to seal the 25-21 win.
The Cru dominated the third set, taking a 25-10 win to earn the three-set sweep. Katie Warden ended with 15 kills while Hannah Frasca added nine. UMHB totaled 41 kills for a .291 percentage in the contest. Kendall Harringon anchored the Cru with 34 assists while Alyssa Christiansen served a team-high two aces. Frasca was the defensive leader for UMHB, totaling 16 digs while Caiden Lasala and Maddie Gillispie each added seven.
UMHB returns to action on Saturday, September 30th against UT Dallas at 2:00 P.M. in Richardson.
