BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team played Texas Lutheran University to a 1-1 draw Tuesday night in Belton. UMHB moved to 6-4-5 overall while the Bulldogs went to 9-3-2.
Texas Lutheran scored the go-ahead goal in the 13
th minute but
Audrey Harlien answered for the Cru, scoring off an assist from
Gracie Ruthven in the 19
th minute for a 1-1 knot. Texas Lutheran totaled 11 shots in the first half as goalkeeper Audrey Tipton made eight saves for the Cru.
UMHB outshot the Bulldogs 7-4 in the second half, putting five shots on frame. Texas Lutheran tallied four total shots with three on frame but neither team was able to score again, ending the game in a 1-1 tie.
Gracie Ruthven and
Audrey Harlien led the Cru with three shots each while five other Crusaders each added one. UMHB put eight of 11 shots on frame in the contest.
Aubrey Tipton played a full 90-minute contest in the net, allowing one goal with 11 total saves on the night.
UMHB returns to action on Thursday, October 23
rd in a 7 p.m. contest against McMurry University at the Cru Soccer Field in Belton.
