MARSHALL, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team used a strong second half to earn a 2-0 win over East Texas Baptist University Saturday in Marshall.

The first half played scoreless with both teams tallying two shots. Peyton Hoyt finally broke the drought for the Cru in the 68th minute, heading in a corner kick from Evan Ruiz for a 1-0 lead. Aidan Aguilera-Reeves tacked on an insurance goal in the 74th minute, finding the lower left corner off a pass from Yannis Benae for a 2-0 UMHB lead.

The Cru saw a few more chances in the second half and fought off a pressuring ETBU offense to end the game with the two-goal victory. Aguilera-Reeves, Ruiz and Karsen Macias led the Cru with two shots each while Macias had a team-high two on goal. UMHB outshot the Tigers 10-7 in the contest, allowing ETBU just two shots on frame.
