BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team dropped a 4-1 match to No. 6 Misericordia University Friday evening. This moves the Cru's record to 1-2-2 on the season, while the Cougars improve to 5-0.
The Cru opened the match three minutes in, with back-to-backs shot from Trinity Hoffmann. Misericordia responded right after with two goals in the 5th and 7th minutes. Leila Cunningham followed with a shot on goal. Jayme Dowell, Kendall Hiatt, and Gracie Ruthven each added shots in the first half.
The Cougars answered again in the first few seconds of the second half with another goal, moving the score to 4-0. The Cru responded in the 80th minute, getting on the board with a goal from Gretchen Marek off an assist from Gracie Ruthven, finishing the match 4-1.
Emma Edwards and Aubrey Tipton split time in the net, with Tipton tallying 76 minutes and two saves.
UMHB returns to action in Belton on Saturday, September 13th in a 6:00pm contest against Austin College.
