BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team tied Trinity University 1-1 Saturday night in Belton. UMHB is 1-9-1 all-time against the Tigers with the program's first win coming in 2023.
Trinity outshot the Cru 8-3 in the first half but four saves from
Aubrey Tipton held the Tigers scoreless in that frame.
Gracie Ruthen finally broke the drought in the 70
th minute, scoring in the low left corner of the goal to put the Cru on top. Trinity answered less than 20 minutes later with a goal from Alex Doran to knot the contest in the 84
th minute.
Neither team was able to get another shot off at the end of the contest, ending the game in a 1-1 knot.
Ruthven led the Cru with three shots, putting two on frame while
Kendall Hiatt also added one shot on goal.
Aubrey Tipton has a spectacular night in the net for the Cru, giving up just one goal and making 11 saves in the contest. Trinity totaled 17 shots in the game, putting 12 on frame while the Cru had five shots with three on goal.
UMHB returns to action on Saturday, October 4
th in a 5 p.m. contest at East Texas Baptist University.
