ALPINE, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team swept Sul Ross State University 3-0 Friday afternoon in Alpine. The win improved the Cru to 8-7 on the season and 4-2 in American Southwest Conference action while the Lobos fell to 3-9 overall and 0-3 in league play.
The Cru maintained control of the match, sweeping the Lobos in straight 25-11, 25-7, 25-19 set wins.
Shelby Russell led the Cru with 11 kills,
Maddie Frerich added eight and
Cheyenne Dowdey and
Natasha Evans each added seven.
Shelby Prather led the Cru with 42 assists as UMHB hit .409 in the match. Defensively, Russell led the Cru with 14 digs while Evans added 11 and
Abby Voskuil had 10. UMHB totaled 46 kills on 93 total attacks with eight errors while the Lobos had 14 kills with six errors on 82 total attacks.

rd in a 2 p.m. match at Howard Payne University in Brownwood.
