Volleyball falls to No. 15 U.T.-Dallas in ASC Tournament

UMHB will resume play on Saturday, November 7th at 11:00 a.m.

RICHARDSON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team fell 3-1 to No. 15 U.T.-Dallas Friday evening in Richardson. The win improved U.T.-Dallas to 29-2 and advances them to the championship match while the Cru falls to 18-11 and moves to the loser's bracket.
 
UTD dominated the first set 25-12 before the Cru made a second-set comeback, beating the Comets 25-22. UTD won the third set 25-17 before UMHB put up a fight in the fourth set, fighting off match points but eventually falling 30-32 in the fourth set.
 
Abby Voskuil led the Cru with 16 kills while Shelby Russell had 12 and Natasha Evans added 10. Shelby Prather led the Cru with 33 assists, followed by Evans with 13. Defensively, Jordan Yates led UMHB with 20 digs while Evans added 19 and Russell had 14. Cheyenne Dowdey led the Cru's defense at the line, totaling eight blocks. UMHB totaled 3 kills on 191 total attacks with 32 errors while the Comets had 61 kills on 177 total attacks with 23 attack errors.
 
UMHB moves on to face the winner of East Division No. 3 seed University of Texas at Tyler and West Division No. 2 seed Concordia Texas on Saturday, November 7th at 11 a.m. The winner of that match moves on to face East Division No. 1 seed U.T.-Dallas at 2 p.m. An if-needed game is scheduled for Saturday, November 7th at 6 p.m.
