RICHARDSON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team swept East Texas Baptist University 3-0 Friday afternoon in Richardson at the American Southwest Conference Crossover II. The win improved the Cru to 15-5 overall and 9-2 in American Southwest Conference action while the Tigers fell to 5-10 overall and 3-5 in league play.
UMHB swept the Tigers 27-25, 25-22, 25-17 to earn the 3-0 win.
Abby Voskuil led the Cru with 16 kills followed by
Maddie Frerich with 14.
Natasha Evans recorded a match-high 40 assists as UMHB hit .163 in the contest. Defensively,
Haleigh Evans led the Cru with 20 kills followed by
Miranda Klein and Voskuil with 13 each. Mallory Sanders led the Tigers with 15 kills as ETBU hit .121 in the match. UMHB totaled 46 kills on 147 total attacks while East Texas Baptist had 39 kills on 140 attacks. The Cru added 66 digs, five team blocks and four service aces.
UMHB returns to action Saturday October 15
th in a pair of crossover matches. The Cru takes on LeTourneau University at 10 a.m. then faces off against crossover-host U.T.-Dallas at 6 p.m.
