SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's volleyball team fell 3-2 to the University of Massachusetts Boston Friday evening in San Antonio. The Beacons improved to 24-4 on the season while UMHB fell to 17-8.

UMHB took a 25-20 first-set win before the Beacons evened the match at one set each with a 25-17 second-set victory. The Cru went ahead one more with a 25-21 third-set but fell to the Beacons 25-19, 15-6 for the 3-2 UMass Boston victory.
Miranda Klein led UMHB with 13 kills followed by
Laryssa Wills and
Madison McVay with six each.
Natasha Evans recorded a team-high 28 assists as UMHB hit 38 kills in the contest. McVay led UMHB with three service aces en route to a team-total three in the match. Defensively,
Haleigh Evans led the Cru with 11 digs followed by Wills with ten.
Maddie Frerich led UMHB's defensive efforts at the net, totaling eight blocks in the match. UMHB totaled 38 kills on 131 total attacks while the Beacons had 52 kills on 123 attacks.
UMHB returns to action on Saturday, October 29
th in a 1 p.m. match against Augsburg College and a 3:30 p.m. match against tournament-host Trinity University.
