BELTON, Texas– The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team played Colorado College to a scoreless draw Sunday afternoon in Belton. UMHB moved to 13-2-1 on the season while the Tigers went to 11-3-5.
UMHB outshot the Tigers 12-6 in regulation, putting seven shots on goal. Both teams recorded four overtime shots, with two on frame. UMHB had a chance to take the win with a penalty kick in the 107
th minute but a save from Theo Hooker kept the contest scoreless.
Javier Zaragoza and
Bryce Eichhorn split time in goal for UMHB. Zaragoza played the first half with one save while Eichhorn played the next three, making three saves. Theo Hooker played all 110 minutes for the Tigers with nine saves. UMHB put 9 total shots on goal and limited the Tigers to just four.
Case Carnes and
Martin Lopez led the Cru with three shots each.
UMHB returns to action in the 2017 ASC Men's Soccer Championship Tournament. UMHB won the regular-season title and right to host the tournament. Quarterfinal play will open on Thursday, November 2
nd with semifinals on Saturday, November 4
th and a 1 p.m. championship match on Sunday, November 5
th. The Cru will open with an 11 a.m. semifinal contest on Saturday.
