Men’s Soccer earns comeback win over Ozarks

BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team used an hour weather delay to regroup, scoring the second-half goals within five minutes to take a 3-2 win over University of the Ozarks. UMHB improved to 5-3 on the season and 3-0 in American Southwest Conference action while the Eagles fell to 5-3 overall and 2-1 in league play.  
 
Kyle Seymour put the Eagles ahead in the 20th minute, heading in a free kick from Harry Hilton for a 1-0 Ozarks lead. The Eagles held that lead through halftime until the game was delayed due to lightning in the area with 43:57 left in the second half.
 
Hunter Shanks saw a scoring opportunity in the 53rd minute off a play-in from Patrick Roach. The ball was redirected into the right corner of the goal by a UO athlete, resulting in a score for the Cru and a 1-1 tie. Roach gave the Cru a lead in the 56th minute, soaring a penalty kick into the top right corner for a goal before Seth Neveloff scored in the 57th minute to put the Cru up by two scores. Ozarks added one more score in the 81st minute but UMHB held, sealing the 3-2 win.
 
Seth Neveloff led the Cru with five shots while Nick Villanueva and St. John Mhindu each added two. UMHB outshot the Eagles 17-8 in the contest, putting seven shots on frame. Dalton Lloyd earned the win in the net for the Cru, making four saves while Caleb Anderson took the loss for the Eagles, giving up three goals with five saves.
 
The Cru returns on Saturday, October 2nd in a 7:30 p.m. contest against the University of Texas at Dallas at the UMHB Soccer Field in Belton.
