BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team swept Centenary College 3-0 Friday evening in Belton. The win improved the Cru to 3-0 on the year while the Ladies fell to 0-2.
UMHB led by as many as four points in the first set but the Ladies tied the set at 21-21.
Dravyn Hurd put the Cru up with a kill followed by a
Jenci Seahorn kill for a two-point advantage. An attack error by Centenary gave the Cru a three-point lead before
Katie Warden secured the win with another kill. UMHB cruised in the final two sets, taking 25-15, 25-13 wins over the Ladies.
Warden led the Cru with 15 kills, hitting .364 in the match.
Dravyn Hurd added eight kills while
Jenci Seahorn and
Sam Sommerfeld each added seven. UMHB totaled 46 kills on 130 attempts for a .254 percentage.
Sydney Bowen recorded a double-double for the Cru, totaling 35 digs and 13 digs in the match.
Maddie Gillispie led the Crusader defense with 22 total digs, followed by
Karsyn Curry with 14. UMHB added eight team blocks in the match, led by Warden and Hurd with four each.
The Cru returns to action on Saturday, September 3
rd in a 1 p.m. match against Hendrix College.
