BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team fell 2-0 to No. 12 Trinity University Friday evening in San Antonio. UMHB opens 2017 at 0-1 while the Tigers start at 1-0.
UMHB held the Tigers scoreless until the 47
th minute when Daylon Gordon found the back of the net off an assist from Austin Michaellis. The Tigers added an insurance goal in the 74
th minute to secure the 2-0 victory.
The Cru defense limited Trinity to just six shots on goal. Goalkeeper Bryce Eichorn made three saves in a full 90-minute contest for the Cru. Marcelo Gaitain led the Cru with three shots while six other Crusaders added one each. Christian Sakshaug led the Tigers with fives hots and one goal.
The Cru returns to action on Tuesday, September 5
th in a 7 p.m. match at Austin College in Sherman. UMHB will play its home opener on Friday, September 8
th in a 7 p.m. match against Schreiner University at the UMHB Soccer Fields in Belton.
