After the three home run inning for UMHB, the Comets responded with an RBI double in the bottom of the first to chip into the Cru's lead 5-1. John Van Huis got that run back in the third with an RBI single to score Easton Cline

Shane Melick tacked on one more run for the Cru, scoring Carson Hagan with a sacrifice fly to right field. The Comets added one run in the sixth and threatened in the seventh, scoring two off a home run.
